BETTER ST PRIVACY
Privacy, without the fine print.
Better ST is designed to control compatible speakers without requiring a Better ST account, building an advertising profile, or tracking you. This policy explains what stays on your device and what is sent when a feature needs an online service.

Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Better ST application for iPhone and iPad, referred to below as the “Application.” It also describes the Better ST Server features used by the Application.
Information collection and use
The Application does not require registration and does not ask for your name, email address, or a Better ST password. It does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and we do not sell Application data or use it to build advertising profiles.
The Application stores settings and content such as favorites, Super Presets, and Mixtapes on your device. Some features use the online services described below and send only the operational data needed to provide those features.
App permissions
Local Network Access is required to discover and communicate with compatible SoundTouch speakers and DLNA media servers on your network. Everyday discovery, playback control, grouping, volume, and device settings are handled directly between the Application and your local devices.
Location Services is optional. If you choose to find radio from your area, the Application requests reduced-accuracy location and uses Apple’s geocoding service to resolve a country and region for local station suggestions. Better ST does not use location to follow your movement or build a location history, and the rest of the Application remains available if you decline permission.
Online services
Radio Browser requests include the search or filter you choose. When a station plays, the station operator receives the network request needed to deliver its stream.
If you use Server Migration, the Application creates a random identifier instead of a personal account. Better ST Server receives that identifier together with operational speaker information such as device ID, device name, serial number, compatible source and Preset configuration, and subsequent Preset or Recent playback data. This allows migrated speakers to start saved content and keep Presets and Recents synchronized.
When purchase verification is needed, Better ST Server receives the anonymous identifier and App Store transaction information required to validate the entitlement. Internet requests also expose an IP address and routine request metadata to the services and infrastructure that deliver and protect the request. Better ST does not use this information for advertising or cross-service tracking.
On-device and iCloud storage
Better ST stores its local settings and saved content on your device. It uses Apple iCloud key-value storage to keep the random Better ST Server identifier available across your devices. If you enable Better ST content sync, selected Super Presets, radio favorites, and Mixtapes are also stored in your iCloud account so they can be merged across your devices.
Information handled by the App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, and Apple geocoding is subject to Apple’s privacy practices.
Third-party services
Better ST uses Radio Browser for its public station directory and Cloudflare infrastructure to deliver and protect Better ST online services. The radio station you choose is responsible for its own stream and privacy practices.
Retention and your choices
Local Application data remains on your device until you remove it or delete the Application. iCloud data is controlled through your Apple account and device settings. Operational Better ST Server records are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to keep Server Migration, Presets, Recents, and entitlement features working, protect the service, and meet applicable obligations.
To ask about Better ST Server data associated with your anonymous identifier, contact support. We may ask you to provide the Better ST account identifier shown inside the Application so we can locate the correct records without requesting your Apple ID.
Children’s privacy
Better ST is not designed to create personal profiles about children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support request, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Better ST changes. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
